IMMIGRANT VOICES PERFORMING ARTS EVENT is fast approaching!

3 Days of entertainment: MUSIC, DANCE and THEATER from a wealth of performing artists.

The festivities begin Friday, August 27th, and last through Sunday, August 29th.
The entire family will enjoy a weekend of award-winning performances in the heart of Queens, NY.

Some of the spectacular artists include:

Queen Majeeda is a Jamaican born singer/songwriter, published in the anthology, “Utterances and Incantations: Women, Poetry and Dub”; has an album released through Heartbeat Records, titled Conscious. She was a nominee for the Jamaica Music Industry (JAMI) Award; Performed at Reggae Sunsplash; Jamaica Council for Human Rights Concert; Lotus Music Festival; Performed with Lillian Allen, Mbala, Cherry Natural; Mutabaruka & many others. She is listed in Who’s Who in Jamaican Arts & Entertainment and was awarded for performing the works of the French poet and singer, Boris Vian’s Le Déserteur (The Deserter).

The acapella trio Thr3e is comprised of Alfred Payne, Kwame Clarke and Charles Thurton. They are currently being dubbed the hottest urban sound, with music that lives to reach others that share the same love and devotion to classic R&B/Soul music. Their passion for their art resonates through their music, and their followers can't get enough.

Pianist Hong Rang Kim is a noted and experienced pianist and teacher. She believes that music is the universal language that communicates across all borders and barriers. She travels extensively between the United States and Asia, bringing life to the piano and is recognized for her elegant style and moving performances.
